1993
Jim Fraps graduates from Sierra Nevada College with a degree in Hotel Management.

1995
Jeff Pensiero (Ski Business Management) and Paula Wilson (Humanities), college sweethearts, graduate from Sierra Nevada College.

1997
Paula heads north and leaves Jeff behind. Fraps and Pensiero meet often for beers at Fraps’ pizza restaurant, and discover they share a dream that involves a lot of maps and powder north of the border.

1997-1999
Fixed-wing exploration leads into a year of grueling paperwork, public meetings, wildlife assessments, red tape, and a serendipitous reunion of college sweethearts.

1999
Approval is granted from the BC government and Baldface is born in the form of a 30-year perpetual renewable lease on 32,000 acres of prime crown land.

1999
Nate Mendel and Dave Grohl invest and Baldface is in business with its first snowcat.

1999
Jeff and Paula get married!

2000
Snowboard icon Craig Kelly and legendary long-time British Columbia guide John Buffery join the team.

2002
Tech entrepreneur Rob Loughan finds the Baldface business plan on his desk and funds the construction of the main timberframe lodge, becoming the first major shareholder in the business.

2005
Construction of seven private timberframe chalets and the expansion to a three-cat operation.

2006
Hood River entrepreneur Henry Fischer signs on as the second major shareholder.

2007
Eric Ladd brings his Big Sky perspective to the table and joins the Baldface team.

2011
Main Lodge sleeping wing collapses and the bigger better lodge is completed.

2014
“Spokane” Dan Reiner consolidates the equity and helps to reinvision the future of Baldface.
